Charles spent an unconventional and independent youth in small towns across Texas. Advertising eventually took him out of the Lone Star state and over the next years he would call Chicago, Portland, Amsterdam, LA and now the Bay area home.
Known for producing creative and complicated work for U.S., pan-European and worldwide campaigns, he's collaborated with some of the industry’s top creative talent and worked throughout the globe in a multitude of situations. From small budgets to multi-million dollar international campaigns, he's produced a substantial body of work for clients such as Apple, Nike, Coca-Cola, Miller Brewing, Budweiser, GM, RED, the Cosmopolitan Hotel, as well as the band U2, amongst numerous others.
Charles has served in top producing and leadership positions at elite creative agencies Wieden+Kennedy (Portland/Amsterdam/London), Modernista!, 72andSunny, and Fallon. His management experience includes designing and building creative and agile Production groups, from recruiting and training key personnel to organizing for rapid growth and/or restructuring. He's a strong proponent of collaboration, from the creation of content with client and development partners to the mentorship and career progression of his production colleagues.
He's currently the Head of Creative Production for Apple’s Retail Engagement & Marketing group. He produces work & manages teams and studios which create video and photography content for the Today at Apple, Internal Communications, & Retail Learning and Development groups. Today at Apple won the Brand Experience and Activation Grand Prix at Cannes Lions in 2018. Prior to that he was the interim Managing Director for 72andSunny's integrated production company and maker lab, HECHO EN 72. As the Chief Production Officer and Leadership team member at Fallon, he oversaw the rejuvenation and all management aspects of the Content Production group with a focus on creating innovative work as well as producing several prominent campaigns. During his tenure, Fallon was named Ad Age’s “Comeback Agency of the Year” for 2015. His work at Satellite Films and Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in LA provided a segue into the commercial film production and entertainment arenas, broadening his management and creative experience across a variety of industries & platforms.
Outside of advertising, his home renovation work, ranging from historical flats in Amsterdam to mid-century & unique architectural homes in California, has long been a creative outlet. The homes have been published in a variety of national and international magazines, newspapers and design blogs. In his spare time, he enjoys travel with his partner and their animals, while cultivating passions in photography, architecture and home design.
